I have graduated! Finally! Now I am off to my college years. Vet tech certification here I come. Below I've listed some things I want all high school students to know and what I've learned from my high school years. Those four years were not easy for me. I failed classes, certainly was not the favorite of the English department, struggled with social life stuff, etc. But from all of that I learned things that I'll carry with me throughout life. Things you can't learn from a teacher and things your mother never told you. Things you have to live through to learn and understand. So, here's some advice and things to think about.

  1. All of those nights you spend doing homework will pay off and they need to get done. Where I come from, homework was 15% of my total grade. That can save you or be the reason you don't pass the class. It sucks and seems pointless, but just do it.
  2. Use or some other MLA format citing site. Make things easy for yourself when you can.
  3. It's really not that big of a deal if you skip a class once or twice. NOT RECOMMENDING! Some times you have things that come up, and if you can afford it, don't feel bad. For example, if you're a girl and you get your period that day and want to tell the world to screw off because you feel so bad. School < Taking care of yourself
  4. Don't slack off your freshman year. People will try to tell you that you can. Don't. You're starting bad work habits and setting up a difficult three years to come.
  5. Don't slack off sophomore year. Your nightmare junior year is ahead.
  6. DO NOT slack off your junior year. Do everything you can to do things right! College admissions, SAT, AP, etc. You'll also get stuff out of the way so you can have a smooth sailing senior year.
  7. Senior year isn't a chill year until you reach the end.
  8. Go to your prom. Do it.
  9. IF you don't agree with your teacher or think they're nuts, shut up and keep that to yourself. Don't bring attention to yourself.
  10. Remember that even though this seems like some never ending road, it will come to an end. Four years and then it all disappears.
